I just observed an unusual issue: connecting my RAM to the motherboard causes the PC to fail to boot, whereas linking it to my brother's system works fine. It seems the new hardware might have affected the motherboard.

Just checking, to be sure if you reuse a cable and power up the PC it definitely caused damage.

I reconnected the RAM and the computer started up, but there was still no video display.
