PC ports seem to be deteriorating. I’m starting my own high-performance PC, and seeing performance problems in Dishonored 2 has me concerned about gaming on PC. As a beginner, I prefer playing on consoles but want the best experience on my new machine.
Ports aren't necessarily deteriorating. Display port and the latest HDMI both support 4K, while USB becomes more universal. Some manufacturers may cut back on PC ports, but standard PCs still work fine. I believe we're moving away from DVI and VGA—those connectors are really annoying. Using only DisplayPort or HDMI with USB for everything sounds like a better direction.

Uh no. One game doesn't negate ask the game that work. There are more good ports than there are bad ones. People just tend to remember the bad ones. When was the last time you turned on the news to see a story about a nice kid helping an old lady cross the street?
