PC Ports
In reality, PC gaming has improved significantly compared to its past. The initial Xbox 360/PS3 era was quite limited, with many multiplatform titles offering the same framerate, field of view, and sometimes even resolution as their console counterparts. Today we still encounter a few poorly optimized games, but that’s roughly the extent of it. To be honest, aside from the performance hiccups in Dishonored 2, most of its features are solid for a PC port. The launch problems with Battlefield 4 were mainly due to network and server issues rather than any inherent PC limitations. Overall, the PC experience has been much better, delivering quality and functionality that matches what we expect today.
You were definitely lucky then. I was part of the group where the game would crash immediately upon launching, with no apparent reason to fix it. I began working about a year later after they finally addressed the issues, which was a widespread problem for many users.
