It works fine...but lacks PCIe Gen4 support. XD...MSI X570 can be delayed until Tomahawk arrives or you opt for Unify. For M.S.I.'s B450, look for models named with MAX. Otherwise, verify if the BIOS is updated for Ryzen 3000 series.

MSI B450 Tomahawk and Gaming Pro Carbon aren't bad at all. I have the B450 Gaming Pro Carbon in my living room. XD

Updating the bios is straightforward; it involves a feature called Bios Flashback. That’s likely what they mean.

Certainly, as long as the board includes that capability, you're all set.

They're definitely solid boards, and someone I know owns a carbon pro—he thinks it's a solid choice and looks nice.

These two boards include a bios flash feature—though it's a simplified version. You're still able to perform all the necessary overclocking tasks. The higher-end models have a bigger bios chip, allowing for a complete bios installation.

Comparing the B450 and X570 options, considering the price difference and adding a Ryzen 9 3900X, it might make sense to opt for the B450 with the CPU upgrade.
