Confused, my computer has begun showing odd actions over the past few weeks. The LAN and internet icon on the taskbar keeps blinking and loads slowly. Google Chrome also takes a couple of seconds to open after launching. I recently reinstalled Windows, assuming something was broken, but everything seems normal now. All loading stops before startup, yet the internet connection still works fine. I’ve never upgraded my BIOS since 2022—unless it’s faulty, I leave it alone. I checked the newest drivers from MSI, but the results match what I see.

Hey there! Your choice seems thoughtful despite the challenges they face. Have you reset your router and checked any connected devices? It might help if the issue stems from a software glitch. Have you considered using a different Ethernet cable? Occasionally, a simple swap can resolve problems. If your network is busy with many gadgets, it could be straining the router and causing drops. A low-cost fix would be adding a case fan (you can find compatible options online).

I've tested nearly every antivirus available and found none problematic. I've opted for Microsoft Defender's built-in protection instead of purchasing another program. Everyone has different experiences, so it's okay. Stay safe and have a great day!

It's really decent, though opinions vary. But Totalav is definitely a scam—the company is known for spreading adware and malware, and they’re not very trustworthy. They also run the usual subscription scam to many people. That’s why I’m giving it a warning.

It could be the network/wifi drivers, the Wi-Fi/Network card, or the motherboard. I'm not sure for sure.

Remove Windows completely, then switch to Defender for protection.

I considered it, possibly reverting the LAN driver.

Thanks will be delivered once a few alternative ideas are considered.
