There’s no solid reason against controllers. In fact, many PC gamers rely on them because certain games work much better with that kind of input device.

I favor controllers for certain genres like racing, platformers, and 3rd person action titles such as MGS V and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Playing with a controller isn't about lazy developers; some games even perform better with precise controller inputs.

I understand that every PC game should include basic keyboard and mouse functionality, especially with remappable keys. It's not always about laziness—some games perform better with controllers. Certain movement styles fit naturally more with analog input, and that doesn't automatically indicate poor design.
