PC GAMES. Use Keyboard + Mouse or Controller.
Yesterday I played Metal Gear Solid V - Ground Zeroes. I used the STRAFE RGB Keyboard and a custom gaming mouse with adjusted DPI. While I wasn’t a big gamer, I enjoyed controlling the viewing angles and player position with the mouse—it felt intuitive. The keyboard part was a bit tricky; I struggled to recall the game’s preset shortcuts until the end of the main mission, and I thought a controller might have been more comfortable. Should I switch to an Xbox One controller with a PC cable? Keyboard, mouse, or controller? What’s the best choice?
Consider testing both options and see what works best. I rely on kb+mouse for fast-paced, reflex-heavy titles like FPS and RTS (or MOBA games), while I prefer a relaxed, third-person experience with a gamepad for console games. It's not as smooth with camera movement, but on some titles it feels much more satisfying to control moves and combos with a gamepad.
It varies by game... controllers work well for driving titles, while FPS games suit mouse and keyboard. Pick the games you play most or grab a cheap Xbox 360 controller.
It largely comes down to personal taste; I favor controllers for story-driven and action games like Tomb Raider and Batman, or racing titles such as Rocket League. For strategy or FPS games, I lean toward using a keyboard and mouse for better precision and comfort. Ultimately, the choice varies based on the game type, but in this case, I’d have gone for a controller.
It varies by game; I favor KB+M for most, except racing titles, third-person experiences, and nearly all emulated console or handheld games. If I loosen up, an FPS with a controller might appeal to me too.
I couldn't play FPS with controller. That's mainly because I haven't played them on consoles or with a controller before. On the other hand, racing, flying, fighting, and most arcade-style games perform better with a controller when you have limited control options or require precise, quick movements.
I end up with a lot of choices. For most third-person games I’d say controller is the way to go. For shooters, it’s usually mk, though exceptions exist. Last night I played Eldewito in Halo Online and found it simpler with a controller, likely because it was optimized for it. I also tried New Vegas with a controller since it felt familiar and less tiring. Strategy games tend to work better with mk, and driving games are a definite win with a controller.
They've created a regional adaptation, though it has some minor issues, but it's still enjoyable.
