In my view, PC enthusiasts who want varied gameplay should have access to both options. Some thrive with traditional controls, and personal taste plays a role too. You won't enjoy Dark Souls or racing titles with a keyboard and mouse, nor will you want CS:GO or Civ V using a gamepad. Personally, my Xbox pad worked well for Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain until I needed precise aiming, which made me switch back to mouse and keyboard. That’s just my preference, not a problem with MGSV.

For a long time I played games on PC with M+KB, and console games with controllers, I guess just because that always felt like the default to me. But recently I've got to using a controller for as many platforms as I can, and if a game doesn't have controller support, I'll mod it in with Xpadder. Recently I've been playing SWTOR with a controller on the couch, and it's awesome to have that versatility where it wasn't as easily accessible before. I also get a nostalgic feel from controller gaming - reminds me of when I used to game on N64 as kid, and now with emulators, having a controller is essential to reclaim that experience. So that's my typical setup now - an Xbone controller (Or a Gamecube controller for certain games) wireless into my laptop, and HDMI out to my TV. Using Launchbox as the big picture UI, it's been a grand ol' time.

I received the Xbox One controller for Windows. MGSV looks good until you need to aim and fire... I think I’ll rely on keyboard and mouse for that game. Grand Theft Auto felt more natural with the controller. Now I own both K+M and a controller... It seems each has its own choice, probably.

Using both options works better. The lack of analog controls in that game makes it hard for me, so I’m relying on the controller to help me move.

Hey there! Mouse and keyboard for shooters, controller for third person—plus a smoother feel while exploring, like watching a movie!

Varies by title. Generally, I rely on keyboard and mouse, though some titles shine with both. For instance, Grand Theft Auto V uses keyboard/mouse for ground and shooting, while mouse helps with aiming in multiplayer. Driving and flying favor a controller for better control. I own an Xbox One controller with a wireless adapter and a Steam controller; I mostly stick to the Xbox one. Your choice matters most, but I’ll share my top picks: FPS – keyboard/mouse always, no doubt; RPG – keyboard preferred for PC optimization; Racing – controller suits precise steering; Platformer – mostly MMO, so keyboard works fine.
