PC emits RF signals between 148.34250 and 148.36250 MHz due to Need For Speed: Heat.
I'm experiencing an unusual situation where my PC starts broadcasting RF signals while running NFS: Heat. These frequencies are detected on a nearby radio between 148.34250 MHz and 148.36250 MHz. It seems to happen only when I'm engaged in gameplay, especially when the window isn't focused or when I'm using the map with the cursor active. The issue appears more intense in certain areas of the screen, as shown in the screenshot. I'm planning to share a video soon and won't be able to record audio at the moment, but it's definitely strange since I thought a PC shouldn't emit such signals.
I’m not sure, but I’m just here to observe what others come up with.
Well, it's quite unusual. There doesn't seem to be another game or program like this.
You found this by stumbling upon it unexpectedly. *That's the thing*
I had my radio in my pocket one day and when I started NFS heat, it started to sound. I thought it was interference, but after some time I noticed a pattern when I switched tabs or exited the game. After testing a couple of combinations, I realized it was actually my PC. When I tried other games like Minecraft with shaders, Code, or mobile games on emulators, nothing happened. It only occurs in NFS heat for an unknown reason. Also, moving around the map changed the sound heard through the radio.
Your radio automatically detects broadcasts and tells you the random frequencies they play. It seems you might not have adjusted its settings, or it could be tuned to pick up signals by chance. I’m still trying to understand how this works without prior knowledge of radio technology.
If the issue appears more severe on the map, I'd expect your graphics card and/or power supply to be affected by the high frame rate. This can be verified by turning on VSync or setting a frame cap. PSU reviewers typically perform EMI tests, and cases with windows or mesh structures tend to perform worse.
Vsync is active and the GPU runs at around 80-100% capacity. Scaling is set to 50% and graphics quality is low, yet performance remains consistent regardless of PC usage. After adjusting to the lowest settings (~50% GPU usage), it seems stable. I might check if the issue relates to power supply within the next two weeks and will update once I test.
