Which game recently caught your attention required more than 8GB of system memory, clearly indicating a strong need for ample resources.
You received an average purchase. I’d think you spent just a small extra amount compared to what you could have. Nothing really worth complaining about.
The i7-3770 ranges from $50 to $90 USED, GTX 970 from $60 to $80 USED, and 8GB DDR3 RAM from $12 to $22 USED. Overall, this totals roughly $122 to $192 for these items, varying with condition and brand. A budget of about $100 to $150 would cover a full build including case, power supply, motherboard, and storage. That’s around $222 to $342 for the same components. Of course, this depends on the specific brands and states of each part.
It really depends on the games you play. There’s likely a bottleneck in most PCs, but this setup seems solid. Try out different titles to spot any performance issues. The 4GB of VRAM should restrict higher texture usage and more demanding graphics settings. This mainly affects newer, graphically intense games from the past few years.
Just maintain your textures and VRAM settings around Medium to High, keeping an eye on your RAM usage—you shouldn’t have major concerns. Less demanding games won’t strain the system much, except for general optimization.
Battlefield V, Resident Evil 2, MetroExodus, STAR WARS Battlefront II, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Battlefield 1, Shadow Of The Tomb Raider and many more are the programs I've added to my PC!
