At 4.4GHz the performance is poor, 4.6GHz offers a balanced result, and 4.8GHz or higher delivers better speeds. However, this doesn't improve much for gaming tasks.

The optimal method involves adjusting the PBO settings. Start by lowering the voltage as much as possible using the curve optimizer. Then increase the maximum PBO boost value to around 200-250. For more advanced tuning, you can further adjust and apply a smaller curve offset like -5 on your top and second best cores. This helps improve both single-core and multi-core performance. On my 5900x, I've achieved core boosts up to nearly 5.2 GHz on the first two cores (on dual x-sizes) and most cores consistently hit or exceed 5 GHz. The interesting part is that my all-core speed stabilizes around 4.8 GHz, but after about five minutes it drops to highs of 4.6-4.7 GHz even though temperatures are stable. It seems the issue might be related to a time threshold on PBO that hasn't been identified yet. Overall, this approach differs significantly from previous chips.

For Ryzen, RAM configuration remains more important than clock speeds because the processors rarely exceed their base frequencies.
