Extremely helpful - a one-hour tutorial about Ryzen 3000 overclocking.
More specifically
PBO alongside standard display illustrating voltage changes during the CPU's enhancement process versus a constant overclock setting.
Sure thing. I need to replay the video to really understand it – not having a Ryzen 3000 makes it harder, but I get it. Fixed overclocking isn't as easy with an Intel CPU, and it's not worth the effort.
He's really unfocused, making it tough to follow. But if you skip too much, you might miss important details that are quite useful. We're now learning what more experienced overclockers are discovering... that even fixed voltages with low settings pose risks because the processor can't lower its current through the cores further. The tiny design characteristics seem to make it more prone to damage if you increase current or temperature, especially with higher voltage.
Interestingly, he appears to have realized in his video that frequency also influences current and temperature, which affects the algorithm's performance. At least that's what I thought.
I still try to think about his main aim while watching—extreme overclocking using LN2. It seems he's trying to figure out how far he can push the CPU safely without making it useless for competitions. After all, most of us don't regularly test $500 processors.
