I know how boosting to high frequency works—it helps the CPU adjust voltage to match the frequency curve. But what’s the threshold in PBO that prevents overheating? Even when the CPU idles around 55°C, it still climbs to 60°C under full load without PBO enabled. One reason I turned on PBO is to lower idle temperatures, not because my idle temps are unusually high, but because I expected it to help.
I've boosted mine to +100 -30 CO, but it's not working as expected. It's running around 21°C in your room with all the windows open.
I just opened up and left the air con running. The room feels a bit chilly now—around 41-43°C and 81°C when the load is high. Did you adjust the curve to -30? What voltage are you using? I’m worried about the maximum voltage; I’d prefer it around 1.4V instead of 1.519V.
Consider adjusting the vcore voltage to around 1.45v for better comfort. Your current setting of 1.488v is fine, but lowering it slightly could help.
Currently everything runs on stock clocks. The CPU is at stock, but in the AMD overclocking area I activated PBO advanced, applied an all-core curve of -30, and then disabled PBO. It preserves the curve. Outside those settings, the whole system remains at stock speed.
