Overclocking can provide a slight improvement, around 5 to 10%, when handling multiple tasks. Many users who overclock aim to boost performance for gaming or content creation, like video editing or encoding. I wonder if you'll notice a real gain in multitasking after overclocking.

A lot of incorrect information exists in this thread. Non-K overclocking is still a viable option. Below are many boards and BIOS setups that can help you overclock the i5-6500.
