Hello, I've noticed many people around me ordering games recently, whether on Steam, Origin or other platforms. My concerns stem from how the AAA industry manages pre-orders. Despite my comments, they seem indifferent and won't make any changes. I'm seeking a balanced view through some feedback before forming my own opinion. Why do you choose to pre-order digital games? Unlike waiting until release, reading reviews and buying only if it meets your expectations makes sense. I can relate to pre-ordering physical copies because of limited availability, but joining the digital train might be better if you still prefer physical formats. Regards, Majestic

I prefer not to pre-order digital games unless I can't obtain a physical version.

Spark TotalBiscuit’s power on audiences. Businesses understand people often buy ahead only to later wish they hadn’t. Yet every preorder from EA, Ubisoft and others brings in a hefty $60+ for them. Recently, EA declined to share review copies of Sims 4, aware the game would face harsh criticism and hurt preorder numbers. They aim to keep audiences unaware rather than enlighten them. As consumers, we must seek clarity by reading what’s being done and act opposite—don’t preorder. Stay educated through reviews, purchase games only after you’re sure you won’t lose money. This approach pushes developers to create better experiences instead of deceiving buyers.

I placed my order for the destiny after testing the alpha and i, though I thought it’d be enjoyable. I ended up getting the ghost edition (no idea what that includes). I also avoid digital games unless the Australian PM, Lord Abbott, slows us down with poor internet—I could download a game in an hour, not wait six nights for a 6GB title.

Yep and I agree with TB Pre-ordering is stupid, sure if its a game you KNOW you will play...like a sequel to something so you have a relatively good idea of what its like or you want to complete the story that makes SOME sense though I still do not agree with it pre-ordering has no benefit, its not like a shop that runs out of stock, (though technically they can) really all you are doing is spending your money on a completely unknown, with no chance of refund and no guarenteee of fixes At least wait until reviews come out, if for example TB gets a review in a week early, and says its a solid port and the game is good, I guess a pre-order MIGHT be ok But 99% of the time they are stupid (Unless you get like 50% off or something)

The sole title I've ordered this year is CoD Advanced Warfare since I need the Xbox One it includes, as it's a special edition.

He fits perfectly with the kind of person I need to listen to. I'm curious about his perspective.

An Xbox and Call of Duty together make a unique pairing rarely found in discussions here.
