Lol. Poor decisions seemed to come my way. I attended art school and used to be part of the SCA. I met someone who attempted a knitting machine that looked like a looped chainmail once—those things did pop up in the 1800s, apparently. The technology probably still exists, since you can find high-quality stainless steel chainmail gloves for cutting fish. He didn’t make it work. I’m not very experienced with it myself. Making chain mail is risky; it puts a lot of strain on your hands and wrists from repeated twisting motions. Edited April 27, 2021 by Bombastinator

I probably developed carpal tunnel from struggling with hand movements and spending a lot of time typing. An ergonomic mouse eases this, but I can’t write neatly enough for important documents because of my vision issue, ADHD mainly inattentive, and dysgraphia.

I just had an idea. I can look at my BIOS to find out if it contains details about my RAM.

He noticed many friends developing carpal tunnel issues from typing on keyboards. One person spent years purchasing expensive “ergonomic” keyboards priced in the hundreds. He saw a sci-fi movie scene showing a design that looked like two cups for your fingers—this keyboard cost $400. Eventually he stopped using it after realizing the most effective way to prevent the condition was to change his typing posture regularly. Small adjustments, like shifting chair height or desk distance by a few inches and switching keyboards, helped. The key wasn’t the size of the change but how often you made them. Try something slightly different each day.

You might discover your current value. More practical data would involve hardware specifics. This reveals the manufacturer and helps you understand delays that could be relevant. Unless the manufacturer designed their own components without using soldered chips, it poses a risk for laptops, particularly recently.

Sure thing. I understand how I write and what I do. It’s just how my body works for me.

I’m evaluating everything and trying to identify what I can discover. I understand I have around 8GB of RAM so far.

This can help with touch typing. It’s best to avoid looking at the keyboard.

I need to check the keyboard frequently, or I risk a lot of spelling errors. With a phone, I can focus only on the screen and work without issues.

I chose the important 16GB model, and it’s performing great so far. It installed smoothly and worked perfectly—no hassle at all.
