Some are using the QVL and others aren’t. How many different memory types appear in the QVL? Usually these lists aren’t crucial for desktops. The idea was a bit odd until Ryzen1 showed a strong preference for memory, making the QVL more relevant for them. My opinion is to stick with the suggested option just because it’s a laptop—laptops can behave unpredictably. If there’s only one memory type on the QVL, I’d feel extra concerned. I'm still getting familiar with upgrading my own device, so I'm not entirely sure what QVL means. I have two RAM slots and an 8GB pre-installed system that I can remove if necessary. The RAM I have is in the slot nearer to the internal components rather than the one closer to the exterior. I was considering sticking with the recommended setup, but I know laptops can behave unpredictably sometimes. I thought it would be better to ask here since my tech skills aren't very strong.
QVL refers to the catalog of memory kinds tested and validated for the device. A comprehensive QVL increases the chances the system will function properly.
This makes sense. To address your query, the key lies in the QVL rather than the Silicon Power. I couldn't locate a specific list, but I saw it on an Acer forum where someone mentioned it. I plan to search further by going to Google. Thank you for being considerate of my limited experience and willingness to learn.
It's okay if you're unfamiliar with everything. I'm confident you have skills or knowledge you're not aware of.
It's common for people to assume we lack knowledge or interest, but that's often not true—especially in gaming.
