The Dell BIOS doesn't support RAM tuning. You should stick to officially approved DDR3-1600 options.

Yes, you can place both modules in slots 2 and 4 as long as they match the slot specifications. Make sure the memory type, speed, and capacity align with your system requirements.

Function should operate properly. However, in dual-channel mode only up to 16 GB will function, leaving the remaining storage as single-channel.

The documentation indicates the 9020 is compatible with DDR3 only. Adding DDR4 would not function. If you mean DDR3, those slots are the best choice as they support dual channel.

I plan to purchase a PC with the 1KF3200C16D4/16GX and the 1KF3200C16D4/8GX. I'm curious if they can function together.

The compatibility with dual-channel versus single-channel matters, and it can influence performance.

8 GB from the 16 GB drive fits well with the other 8 GB. The leftover 8 GB will remain separate. It’s not using the full 16 GB in dual channel, but combining half of it with the 8 GB for a total of 16 in dual channel. This setup doubles the speed, offering noticeable improvement.

You could sell your PC with 1x16GB and purchase a model with 2x8GB.
