That's correct, I've been using a 144Hz monitor for over a year, and my laptop has had 300Hz for a few months. I don't notice any difference at 60fps.
I'm a bit of a number guy. 60 solid ratings. 144 to 120 hertz at 90 hertz are pretty rare. Usually people pick 144 hertz above 120 hertz, and most common monitors these days are 4K. For gaming, 1080p and 2K screens favor 144 hertz, while 240 hertz is gaining traction now that it's more popular.
I believe 60 frames per second is the maximum most people reach, though it offers a much smoother view. The gap between night and day depends on the individual—some notice the difference while others don’t. For me, switching from a 60fps screen to one at 144hz was truly remarkable.
It's a lot of dog shit out there, but there are plenty of "enthusiastic" claims. I started a discussion about how a $400 gaming PC can handle 1080p at 60fps and still perform well. Most people gave me over 200 replies, mostly angry. The thread got locked because of abuse. Some folks with PS4 are stuck at 30fps. My little sister and I still play on the Wii, and we say anything under 120fps is a mess. A 75hz monitor feels smooth to most, except for a tiny fraction. I think that’s the group that can’t afford a 144hz screen.
