Operating with unsupported DDR4 RAM
Operating with unsupported DDR4 RAM
Hey there, I just got a new PC but can’t return the parts I bought. When I start it up, I don’t see the BIOS menu and the DRAM LED lights up. All the fans are spinning, and to shut it down I have to press the power button for about six seconds. The mainboard is an MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, the CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600X, and the RAM is two 8GB units from G.Skill at 3600Mhz CL16 (F4-3600C16D-16GTZ). I’ve done the following: 1. Installed the latest BIOS using USB flash drive 2. Tried a dimmer in every slot 3. Tested all combinations I can manage I can’t test other RAM now since I don’t have any DDR4 or a motherboard. The site says the RAM isn’t supported. Can I still boot it and adjust settings manually? Thanks!
Did identical issues occur prior to your BIOS update? Have you reset the CMOS?
CMOS is reset yet the device remains inactive, including the display not turning on.
