I've experienced difficulties with any app using Chromium for its interface, including Chrome, Edge, Steam, Discord, Adobe CC, and more. When hardware acceleration is turned on, the software launches smoothly but shows a blank screen. The interface remains functional, though interactive elements like minimize, maximize, or close buttons in the top-right corner still respond if you know their locations. The attached screenshot captures the Edge window. Disabling hardware acceleration (using --disable-gpu or config changes) resolves the issue. This workaround has been necessary for updates, as newer versions sometimes break it. Some applications, like Discord, are particularly problematic. It appears the problem isn't hardware-related—GPU upgrade didn’t fix it—and isn’t tied to user profiles, GPU drivers, or OS corruption. All software and drivers seem current. Are there other settings or troubleshooting steps you'd recommend trying? I've already attempted common fixes like clearing Chrome’s cache, reinstalling drivers, and updating Windows 10 Pro.

Great support! You helped me figure out the problem and found a solution. (Mostly nailed it!) Edit: Now it works for Electron apps like Discord, Adobe, etc... still working on Chrome and Steam fixes. Just press Windows key + R and type %USERPROFILE% \AppData in the search bar. Type: (name:=Cache OR name:="Code Cache" OR name:=GPUCache) and choose a folder. Press Delete. If you run into odd issues, you can bring them back from the Recycle Bin. This bug is known for Electron apps and should be fixed soon (it will be part of the main framework). Let me know your experience! Updated December 31, 2023 by problemsolver Added more cache folder locations.

That's interesting. You might try using Discord and also remove the %APPDATA%\discord\ Cache folder and CodeCache folder. See if that resolves the issue. If it works, please review my previous post—I've revised the search command.

It seems the problem persists across platforms—Edge and Discord work, yet Steam and Google Chrome don’t. Likely the same cache issue exists, but the specific storage locations differ.

I made a change to my previous update. Cache files are saved at %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local.

For Steam and Chrome, consider removing the blob_storage, SessionStorage, and LocalStorage directories and check if the issue resolves. It might be necessary to reinstall these applications since some residual data can remain after uninstallation.

Removed, cleared from AppData, reinstall produced identical outcomes. Odd issue.

They are found at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Steam and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Chrome.
