It swapped in the initial screen... The operating system felt almost impossible to explore without relying on Start Is Back.

They take advantage of it for data mining and trade the information just like Apple and Samsung do. It might also end up with the NSA.

It helps them understand which features are actually used versus ignored. As someone who builds software, those insights wouldn’t exist without the data gathered by my tools.

I never played a clean 8, yet I considered 8.1 decent. Folks tend to complain and whine about updates.

If you've paid any attention to tech news since the release of windows 10, you would have seen more than plenty of stuff come up about it. And I care because I shouldn't have to worry about my operating system keylogging me and such by default, it should at least clearly say what will be sent back to microsoft in the settings and such. I don't care if they're "just going to use it to improve future versions and fix bugs", I don't want them spying on me, same goes for anyone else.

I didn’t have any real problems, and even now I rarely open the start menu. Everything I need is on my desktop—probably because of Rainmeter. I’m not alone; many people share that feeling, and I know others who feel the same way. It seems to work fine for most users with Windows 8.1.

8.1 is a positive rating.
Windows 2000, Windows ME, and Windows Vista are also considered good.
Windows XP and Windows 7 have mixed reviews.
Windows 8 is good, while Windows 8.1 is bad.
Windows 10 is bad.
