They gathered nearly identical information in Windows 8, yet nobody noticed. Top software creators rely on metrics—Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay and more. I don’t understand why, but recently everyone seems to be focusing on Microsoft, as if spying has suddenly started.

Windows XP wasn’t great, Vista improved things, but Vista was decent, and Windows 7 was solid. Not using Windows 10 isn’t a big issue.
