Purchase a cable tester to identify faulty pins. https://www.amazon.com/iMBAPrice-Network...way&sr=8-4 Images aren't useful. Even if colors look right, poor contact will prevent it from working.
This item seems to be a reliable Klein tools crimp tool. I’d likely recommend it based on its description and typical performance.
Wire colors need to match this pattern... when you grip the cable and the pins face you: identical wiring at each end... pick the same for both sides.
Additionally, I would prefer the B standard as it is the most frequently used.
I recently crafted several cables and think it would be wise to switch to EZ-RJ45 connectors along with a crimper. It’s not a major upgrade, but these parts are a bit more user-friendly since they reduce the need to manage wire placement inside the cable.
It's strange how things turned out when I first connected the cables. I'm not sure why it wasn't always done the right way from the start. Maybe there was a chance moisture got into the exposed ends?
