It's Friday morning and I'm dealing with a series of BSODs this week. Thursday had four incidents, each with different causes so they don't match. My system is the top one in my list, but key issues include: 7980XE Asus TUF X299 Mark 2 with the latest BIOS, Corsair 8x8GB 3000, and an XMP setting. The CPU was installed on Tuesday and performed well until Thursday evening. I updated the GPU driver yesterday but reverted to an older version, and it's still failing. I didn't notice any problems if the CPU is unstable, so I'm puzzled about what else could be wrong. I've checked Windows files and OS SSD scan, both clean. RAM voltage was adjusted slightly without effect. At default settings with XMP off, performance was just below normal. I'm planning to reset the BIOS in case there are differences between the two CPUs, which seems unlikely. If nothing helps, I'll reinstall the old CPU to test if it's a hardware issue or just a system problem. This is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Look in the event viewer for any logged errors that could cause a BSOD.

Do you manage the vcore settings? If yes, increase it slightly and observe any adjustments.

I examined those parts and didn’t see a specific common origin. I should have noted in the original post that I ran stability tests and other checks after getting the CPU. I’m planning a memtest now since I haven’t done one in a while. To be honest, when you mentioned it, I attempted a slight voltage shift of +0.05V, and it seems the final crash occurred during that adjustment.

Are you checking RAM? If it's not stable, it could be affecting your system.

You might increase the voltage on the RAM and observe any effects. 0.05v might be too low, but since I haven’t used offset mode, I’m not certain.

One is currently in progress. Do you have a preference between memtest86 and memtest86+? I'm using the newer version. System thread exceptions aren't being managed, IRQ isn't set to a low or equal value. There was another issue but I can't recall it, and I can't verify it now. I'll check again after the test completes. Since CPU voltage changes with load, the offset tends to increase overall. It isn't overclocked and XMP is disabled.
