Hi guys,
just updated CPU and mobo to 8700K and Asus Z370A with an air tower cooler and 16GB of DDR4 (2666).
Don´t have any idea about OC, so I ran the ez-tuning wizard in the ASUS BIOS and then checked with CPU-Z. It showed over 5000 MHz on all cores, bus speed at 103 and RAM frequency at 4400.
Seems like a lot considering only an air cooler, but I’m still unsure.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

For your 8700K @ 5Ghz or higher, I suggest an AiO cooler with dimensions either 240mm (2 x 120mm fans & radiator) or 280mm (2 x 140mm fans & radiator). Models from Corsair Hydro series and NZXT Kraken series are suitable options.

What is the make and model of your tower cooler? Many don't work as expected for various reasons. If you're unsure about overclocking, start by reading about it and then do a starting overclock that you can adjust from there.

Could you share your specifications like this:
CPU: Motherboard: RAM: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: Ambient air temperature in your room.

Lutfij :
Tell me the make and model of your tower cooler. Many don't work as expected for various reasons. If you're unsure about overclocking, start by reading about it and then do a baseline overclock from which you can adjust up or down.

Could you share your specifications like this:
CPU: Motherboard: RAM: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: Ambient air temperature in your room.
I'll wait for you to get back to the studio. Thanks!

Lutfij would like to know the make and model of your tower cooler. Many don’t work as expected for various reasons. If you’re unsure about overclocking, start by reading up on it and then try a baseline overclock from which you can adjust.

It might be feasible to share your specifications like this:
CPU: Intel i7 8700k
Motherboard: Asus Z370a
Ram: 16 GB Corsair 2666 MHz
SSD/HDD: multiple SSDs
GPU: Geforce 1030 GT
PSU: INTA Audio 650W ultra quiet power supply
Chassis: Bitfenix Shadow
Cooler: Gaia Ultra quiet copper pipe cooler

Please also mention your room’s ambient air temperatures (around 20-22 degrees Celsius, warmer in summer, such as in Barcelona, Spain).
Thank you!

Ninjawithagun replies:
1030GT WTF?
I make music, no need for a powerful graphics card.
Ah, makes sense – though I would have suggested getting a Ryzen 7 with eight cores or even a Threadripper with twelve or sixteen cores. Much better value for money.
😀
