Turn off the listed startups, restart the computer, pause for a few seconds, then open Task Manager to review RAM consumption. Steam Starter Module Discord Razer Snypase appears to be using significant memory.

I just powered it up, 3.7GB at startup, Chrome uses around 300MB right now. Why does it feel like it needs a lot of RAM? If everything in Task Manager is showing correctly, it probably isn’t using much. Now it’s using about 3.9GB. Razer started up by itself—I’m not sure how that happened, but it doesn’t seem to be using a lot.

3.9GB(21% RAM usage) with Chrome opening seems normal to me. Chrome is known to be heavy on RAM. How much RAM do you have? I have 32GB RAM and with just 1 Firefox browser opening I am already on 3.2GB to 3.5GB. On startup it was like 2GB RAM. Did you turn off all startups except WD on startups? Cuz I shouldn't see Razer Snypase in the Task Manager. If it is a Windows Memory leak then your RAM usage will be in mid 70% and above with nothing opening and idling at the desktop. Can you boot into Safe with Networking and see the RAM usage in there?

What does "startup only" imply? It refers to programs that launch immediately upon installation, though others can still run later. Clarify if you need details about your PC's RAM usage. Check the task manager, select performance, then memory section. Look at screenshots of idle or download activity for more info.

System reports 16GB of RAM installed, but only shows 15.9GB as usual.

Sure, I can still share a screenshot of the RAM tab. It’s normal for usage to be higher, especially after extended uptime. After stopping Steam, it’s using around 100MB now—unless other apps are running.

It's normal for performance to improve once the stress test ends. Windows chooses which files to keep based on available memory, and it may start managing RAM more efficiently afterward.
