CPU temperatures on the Rzyen 3600 can vary quite a bit, especially when idle. It's not unusual for them to rise above 10°C during inactivity. Using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 and boosting the clock to 4150 MHz at 1.3V helps manage heat. Thanks!

Idle handles roughly two thousand background processes. MSI Afterburner doesn't work well with Zen metrics—HWiNFO and Ryzen Master are better. Overclocking is affecting performance; auto with PBO should give you better game results.

same issue here, temperatures are unreliable—sometimes they hover around 40°C, other times spike to 50°C or higher. Occasionally it hits 60°C, and then when I launch a game I see readings jump to 70°C or more. Last night I played WoW for an hour without overheating, but this morning the temps hit 80°C in just five minutes. This is really frustrating; I’m starting to question whether this game is worth the investment.

The cooler isn't installed correctly. This measurement can't be accurate if it's not properly secured.

The stock feels cooler, I believe there’s not much room for errors, but I’ll try again. Thanks for your feedback—I was a bit upset, but I appreciate it.

Also verify the paste application isn’t affected by fingerprints or similar issues—stock stealth isn’t ideal, but aim for under 80 while handling heavy loads. Update your BIOS/chipset drivers, ensure PBO is turned off, and confirm the fan isn’t set to silent.

I reinstalled the cooler twice more and nothing improved; I even tried a different thermal method this last time (spreading it), but it didn’t help. The BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date, the PBO is disabled, and fans are set to "standard." Honestly, I don’t mind the high temperature limits much (80°C even 90°C in Cinebench20). What really concerned me are the temperature spikes—it can hit 70°C for a few seconds while I’m browsing.

Test with a slight negative voltage, around -0.05, to observe its impact on temperatures.

It's typical for Ryzen processors...my 3700X also runs idle at 44-54°C, fluctuating up and down...surrounding temperature around 30°C±
