Hey there, I see you're trying to get your old setup working again. Let's tackle this step by step. Your system has a few limitations: the Intel Pentium 4 is single-core and running at 2.40GHz, which isn't ideal for modern games needing more than 1GB of RAM. You mentioned having 512MB of DDR1 memory at 3.2MHz, but that's still below the recommended 1GB for smooth gaming. The two IDE hard drives are 40GB each, which is decent, but you're aiming for Windows XP 32-bit, which supports up to 4GB RAM. To fix the graphics issue, you might need a more recent GPU or at least upgrade to something like an integrated graphics solution or a dedicated GPU that matches your OS. If you're serious about gaming, consider replacing the old graphics card with something compatible—like a modern integrated card or a discrete one if you're open to upgrading. Let me know what games you're targeting, and I can suggest more specific steps!

Tell me which titles you're interested in playing. Make sure your system stays stable with games from around 2007 onward. Your processor is at 200MHz—PC3200 isn't 3200MHz. You mentioned a specific motherboard, which is key for future upgrades.

Which games are you interested in playing? The GeForce 4 MX440 had poor performance even when it was first released in 2002.

I attempted to install Far Cry 2 yesterday, and it works smoothly at 40 frames per second.

The development process was challenging since Far Cry 2 didn’t support DirectX 7 rendering. That’s the main obstacle I faced.

The GPU can only handle DX7, which raises questions about running a game without that support on it :B

GF4 MX is limited to DX7 technology, meaning it requires DX7-based games. This places its availability well before 2007. Possibly around 2003–2005, though the 7 would be too recent.
