I can tell you how far I can overclock the GPU and what steps to follow. Please note the details of your system: motherboard Gigabyte GA-946GM-S2 rev 2.0, CPU Intel Core 2 Duo e4700 at 2.60ghz, RAM 4GB DDR2 (2x2GB), GPU Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT 512MB 256-bit DDR3. I’ll explain everything in detail so you understand the process.

They struggle to manage it properly, which can cause issues without increasing voltage. This might result in only 1 or 2 frames per second while the device heats up significantly.

Count Mike is asking if you're planning to burn something or if you actually want to overclock the GPU.

They struggle to manage it properly, which could cause voltage spikes and reduce performance by 1 or 2 frames per second during significant heating.

Even the most affordable new GPU with just 1GB of memory, such as the HD7750, would perform exceptionally well. You wouldn't require a replacement power supply either.

CountMike shared his thoughts on upgrading. He believes even a budget GPU with limited memory would perform poorly, and he wouldn't need a new power supply. He plans to purchase new parts for two months and is curious about upgrading his older GPU.

I believe you were fortunate it lasted so long. I've witnessed many GPUs failing in that category before. The chances don't seem worth the potential loss.
