They are recognized for warming things up. If you're feeling bold, consider swapping the paste on the cooler—it should be mostly dry now.

CountMike shares that they are recognized for warming things up. If you're feeling bold, consider swapping the paste on the cooler—it should be quite dry now. Over the years, I only change the paste once, and the temperature stays steady at 45-50 degrees Celsius even after several hours of gaming. However, I notice my FPS drops significantly after extended sessions, which suggests something about the quality of that older GPU.

Count Mike mentions handling it well and plans to use a GTX 960 or R9 380X for his next GPU.

You're doing well with it.
Some of my next GPUs will be GTX 960 or R9 380X.
Unrelated, but if you choose an AMD GPU, opt for the R9 290X and overclock it, it can match a 390X if it stays cool.

That sounds good, but I prefer buying a new GPU to avoid losing warranty and spending on a pricey cooler.

290 and 390 are essentially identical, with 390 fully meeting DirectX 12 requirements. 290 also supports Dx12 drivers.

Avramovic8 shared their thoughts on the matter. They noted that 290 and 390 are almost identical, especially since the latter fully supports DirectX 12 and has compatible drivers. They mentioned having a 390 and found it worth the investment at £200. They also expressed a preference for AMD going forward but saw Nvidia's GTX Pascals as very appealing for future hardware needs when this GPU becomes less available.

I own a 390 and, honestly, it was worth the £200 investment. I tend to stick with AMD going forward, but Nvidia's GTX Pascals look really promising for future hardware when this GPU becomes scarce. Yea, though in Serbia 380 is still above $300.
