Hey there, everyone! This is Rev here. Welcome back after what seemed like another wild episode! Let’s walk through the story of my current PC setup (full specs included). My first build was an MSI MEG X570 Ace paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 3950X, 64GB RAM, a Gigabyte 1080Ti WaterForce motherboard with custom waterloop. In May 2021, everything ran smoothly without any overheating issues. I kept up with maintenance—water, thermal paste, and dust control in a well-kept room.

Around mid-2023, I noticed a gradual increase in CPU temperatures, but it wasn’t alarming until a week later when the fan began making unusual noises. I swapped out the water pump right away and it worked fine for a short time afterward. After a second replacement, the system stabilized again, though temperatures stayed elevated compared to the original 3950X. I clocked the CPU at 3950X and upgraded to a 5950X, added 128GB RAM, and swapped in a 3080 graphics card.

After the upgrade, temperatures were still higher than expected but within safe limits. I encountered random errors, some M.2 drives not showing, partial RAM visibility, spikes over 90°C, and occasional hard resets under stress. There was also a case where the CPU temperature jumped to 106°C before shutdown, and I saw a reading spike on the packaging.

Despite these hiccups, I managed to keep doing video rendering, editing, and gaming without major problems. About three weeks ago, things started getting worse—system instability increased, and I had to underclock the CPU for stability. Now, while I can still handle most tasks, it’s not as smooth as before.

Here’s a quick recap of what I have:
- OS: Windows 11 Home 23H2 (Build 22631.4460)
- Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 Ace (MS-7C35)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 3600
- GPU: Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3080 Xtreme WaterForce
- Storage: WD10EACS-22D6B0 (1TB SATA-II), Sabrent drives
- BIOS: Q1 CPU, Trident Z Neo, etc.

I’ve been monitoring temperatures and sensor data via HWINFO, but the issues still persist. I’m open to suggestions on what might be causing these problems—any tips would be super helpful! Thanks for your patience!

It seems like the issue resembles a faulty CPU or suggests updating your BIOS to the latest release, even if it's still in beta.

Thanks! I think the CPU might be struggling as well, but it could just be a sign of a bigger issue. The BIOS is the newest version from MSI, so I'll double-check later. Appreciate the help, Rev!

Do you have the 3950x still? If yes, drop it in and check the results. It seems like the unit might not be working perfectly right out of the box.

The 3950x faced similar problems. That's why I switched to the 5950x.

When both processors experience the same problems, it's probably due to another factor. The hardware might be faulty.

Consider testing with reduced RAM rates. It's uncertain if it will help. Also, revert all BIOS configurations back to their standard settings.
