No one is aware of a Copilot+ All-In-One or Desktop PC release yet. Currently, only Copilot+ next-gen AI laptops are available.

The restriction isn't due to hardware constraints but software ones. Delivery will happen once Microsoft updates Windows for it. I believe Nvidia anticipates Microsoft will include support for their GPUs this year, with comparable plans for AMD and Intel CPUs.

In a way, it feels hardware constrained since it depends on Snapdragon ML chips. Until other ML support arrives, it stays exclusive to those processors. If only they could harness more of that ML power for a smooth Windows search...

Are there notable distinctions between the Snapdragon NPU and those from AMD or Intel? As long as they deliver adequate performance (TOPS), the differences seem more related to software integration. I’m not sure what MS is actually aiming for, but it appears the main variation lies in the interface rather than hardware itself. There might be challenges when running multiple applications simultaneously or managing power usage, especially on mobile devices. For reasons we may never uncover, MS opted for Snapdragon first, yet it seems others could have been supported more quickly. If you think I missed anything, let me know where to look next. I don’t believe there’s a significant hardware difference, just a software interface distinction.

AMD included them in some 7040 series mobile CPUs and later 8000G desktop APUs, while Intel added them via Meteor Lake. The latest Ryzen AI 300 and Lunar Lake chips came soon after the Snapdragon Elite launch. All firms maintain ties with Microsoft, and it seems their announcements go beyond just the initial release. I wonder if Microsoft is shifting away from x86 or if the QC provided some support to Microsoft.

One upcoming feature for Win11 called Windows Recall requires an CoPilot PC, and the minimum NPU it need is 40TOPS. Intel's Core Ultra 9 285K has just 13TOPS. AMD's 8000 series for desktop, NPU is 16TOPS.
