This situation is really confusing. I purchased a 5080 about two months ago. When I first got it, Windows didn’t recognize it, so I assumed it was defective and returned it for a warranty claim. The card passed inspection on the service bench, but the technicians noted it was acting oddly and ordered a replacement. Today the new card arrived, and I installed it right away—still getting the same problem. It doesn’t show up in Windows at all. This leads me to believe something is wrong with my setup. I’ve tried all the basic troubleshooting steps, checked device manager, used command prompts, changed PCIe settings, switched cable types, updated drivers, and even reinstalled the GPU. The power and fans are working fine, and the card is getting power. I’m hoping someone has another approach or any tips that worked for others. Thanks in advance for your help!

Open Windows in safe mode. Execute the program, choose Nvidia from the options, and select "Clean and restart" via the link. Return to the main screen and install the updated Nvidia drivers.

I've tested it too, the same problem persists. It doesn't appear, and downloading the NVIDIA app or drivers results in an installation failure due to no device detection.

Gen 4 is the latest version. Do you have a riser cable?

Already attempted, but not working—direct connection to the motherboard isn't feasible.

You're asking about the meaning of "it didn't detect in Windows," possibly related to a missing display or GPU integration. The message suggests checking for visual output or using an integrated graphics solution. If it wasn't edited, the note was made on May 31, 2025 by leclod.

I used an older GPU (3080ti) and everything seems normal—device manager shows it correctly, plugging in the 5080 works fine. However, when using my 9950x integrated GPU to check output, it doesn’t display anything, even though the system boots. It feels like the system doesn’t recognize the GPU or isn’t properly connected.

When using tools like CPU-Z or HWinfo64, switching between GPU options isn't possible. Also, could you share your power supply information?

It doesn't appear in HWinfo64 either; I also have AIDA64, but it wasn't found there. The PSU is a 1300W Lian Li Edge model.
