Checking typical idle temperatures for the Gigabyte GTX 970 WindForce 3x OC edition at an ambient of 23°C, with a reported range of 43-47°C during idle, seems reasonable.

Does the graphics card model include fans with zero decibel operation, and are they activated only when the core reaches approximately 60°C?

Does that model graphics card have fans with zero decibel operation? Those that don't activate until the core reaches around 60°C? No, this GPU behaves differently. The fan speeds can only drop to 30%, and at idle temperatures it stays near 47%, which corresponds to about three fans spinning at 1500 rpm. I believe the software doesn’t support lowering the fan speed to zero% on this unit.

Looking for acceptable idle temperatures for a gigabyte gtx 970 windforce 3x oc edition. The room temperature is about 23C, but the GPU stays around 43-47C while idle. Seems normal, my friend has similar results and is satisfied. :d

It's not a big concern. Could you tell me what your temperatures are when things are under pressure?

It's not a big concern. How are your temperatures when things are running heavy? It's typically about 80.

That's nothing alarming. What are you your temps under load?
it usually stays around 80
Ok, now that's messed up, you're idle temp is fine but load temp is a bit too much, but as it is OCed, so make sure theres decent airflow.

It is OC'd at 105% power limit and 125+ mhz on the gpu clock and 150+ on the memory clock. The thing is i feel like the airflow is the best my case and my setup will allow, since its in a Phanteks p400s eclipse, which has a really horrible front panel for airflow and a 280 radiator for my cpu running push/pull config.

Ok, now I'm left speechless! I've been having same issue with my hdd, but I know that it's the airflow messing up. In you're case, things are pretty confusing.... :/

yea. the weird thing my gpu has similar temps to my cpu, which is a water cooled i7 7700k at 5 Ghz. Plus i removed the original TIM on my gpu and placed some aftermarket paste and it got 5C lower, so it was worse stock
