I upgraded to an MSI 3080 x Trio and had to lower its clock speed more often over time to enjoy gaming. Now it’s no longer possible for demanding titles. I’ve tried numerous solutions, but nothing helped much. I even considered replacing the GPU and it worked perfectly. I’m starting to lose hope, but if anyone knows what I’m facing, please let me know.

Checking the GPU temperatures, seeing if throttling occurs, and using Hwinfo 64 and GPUz can reveal performance limits. Screenshots provide additional insights into what the graphics card is doing. Does the game freeze? Does it lag briefly before freezing completely? What outcomes are observed? Complete system specifications are also needed.

Games often stop unexpectedly with warnings such as “dxgi_error_device_hung.” It can launch normally for a while before freezing briefly and then crashing. The issue appears suddenly without affecting the frames. System details: - RTX 3080 - B450 gaming plus max motherboard - Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16GB - Corsair 750 Gold PSU I’ll share more info from GPUz once I’m back home.

Things I attempted to resolve:
- Installed fresh drivers and rolled back to previous versions
- Reinstalled Windows
- Cleaned the GPU
- Swapped thermal pads and applied paste onto the GPU
- Reduced clock speed and lowered voltage
- Enabled debug mode in NVIDIA control panel
- Capped FPS at 60
- Adjusted graphics settings in games
- Disabled antialiasing in the control panel
- Replaced RAM sticks
Plus numerous actions I don’t even recall.

Consider checking with MSI or the GPU maker’s support for an RMA. Many current cards come with multiple years of warranty, which could save you the trouble of purchasing a replacement. It seems like a smarter option than buying a new GPU.

I hope I can, but it seems MSI doesn’t offer a warranty for international shipments. I purchased it from Newegg. Their support team was really unhelpful once I began swapping pads and accessories.

Are you located in the EU? There are likely regulations ensuring MSI respects their warranty no matter where you purchased it within the EU. Also, did you recently purchase a GPU? If Newegg sold you a faulty card and they deny a return, you might want to contact your bank for help. It’s best to call Newegg Support directly by phone rather than chat so you receive direct assistance and can clearly explain your situation.

I'm outside the EU and purchased my GPU over two years ago, when it was just released. The problem started about three months ago. I did my best to claim the warranty, but it didn't work out.

The attempt to launch Ghostwire Tokyo didn’t go through, and the file GPU-Z Sensor Log.txt is available for review.
