I purchased the Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB 6200 MHz CL36 RAM for my 7800x3d and ASUS Prime x670e-Pro WIFI. After ordering, I noticed the label says Intel XMP instead of AMD EXPO. Can I still run this memory in my system without problems, and is it possible to overclock it using a profile? I verified my memory's QVL list and saw the Dominator Platinum entry, but it claims to be Intel XMP.

Intel Extreme Memory Profiling or XMP works with AMD boards too. Different names like DOCP or A-XMP are used by some AMD systems, but they function identically to Intel XMP.

The RAM should fit your configuration. When you boost the memory speed, it will appear as an EXPO profile unless you adjust it yourself.

Check the Memory QVL for your particular motherboard. Look for the part number of your Corsair kit there.

It's a bit tricky to understand. XMP functions well on AMD when using the latest BIOS updates (though older versions had some issues). The issue lies with the 6200MT/s profile—it's generally the least efficient for performance on AMD systems. There are two memory controller settings: 1:1 and 2:1. 1:1 offers lower latency but limits maximum speed, while 2:1 supports higher speeds at a cost. Because of the significant latency drawback in 2:1 mode, it tends to underperform until you reach speeds over 7600MT/s. Speeds above 6000MT/s usually switch to 2:1, which means you lose a lot of performance compared to a 6000MT/s setup. While 6200 can run in 1:1 mode on most CPUs, you'd need to manually enable it in the BIOS—if you're comfortable with that, it might be worth it. Otherwise, opting for 6000MT/s CL30 kits is cheaper and will easily reach 6200MT/s without the hassle. If you're open to memory tuning, this option isn't practical; otherwise, stick with the more affordable choice.

With Zen4, sticking with EXPO is your safest choice unless you're into memory tuning and want it to function as intended. The XMP kit can still be used, though I'm not comfortable taking that risk or recommending it to others. @RONOTHAN## explains it clearly here.

That sounds acceptable. I can request a refund and secure the 6000 MT/s. The CL30 isn't available in white for the RAM you need, but CL36 Rev X is in stock.

Generally, I’d advise against using CL36 kits, as CL30/32 models are typically priced similarly while offering benefits like improved performance and extensive BIOS tweaks thanks to their SK Hynix foundation. There might be slight price variations that could make CL36 kits more appealing. You can find more details here: [link]

Much more affordable option available. Maintains white color and RGB quality. [Amazon link] [Newegg listing]
