Looking for a case with RGB fans using a VDG 5V connector, but your motherboard lacks that port. Can you connect it via USB or a fan 4-pin adapter so the RGB software functions? Case manual provided, motherboard listed.

This instance lacks software; it uses a controller linked to your board through a suitable connector. An alternative to an RGB header is connecting the controller to the reset switch and changing operating mode via the case's button.

With a 5v VDG header, you can connect it for RGB case settings using Gigabyte's and MSI's tools. Without the header, you must rely on the provided presets. There’s no alternative besides a dedicated RGB controller, which I haven’t seen but could be available.

Yes, you can connect the reset pins to both the controller and the motherboard, and it functions through the software as well.

It seems unclear which phrases in your message suggested something that way. You either possess a board with a header and can operate the software, or you lack the header and cannot use the software, needing to depend on preset buttons. Separate RGB controllers might exist, but I haven’t found any. You could press the case’s reset button for reset features, or connect it to the controller to switch presets.

The MSI B150 PC MATE lacks RGB/Argb headers, so the only choice is to connect the reset button and use it. Alternatively, consider purchasing an internal USB 2.0 controller, though many don’t support the standard 2+1 Argb connector and the VDG interface is no longer available. I found links in my profile with various USB controllers, but you’ll probably need an adapter since all devices use proprietary connectors.

Do you believe the built-in controller can adjust the colors of a Phanteks Neon Digital RGB LED strip using the reset button?
