No, there isn't a resolution linked to the Windows update that's directly causing SSDs to be lost.

Thank you for sharing this. Initially, the report mentioned that Phison was addressing an issue, but no mention of other SSD controllers being impacted. This suggests a potential issue specific to Phison. I became less concerned because my SSDs are from Samsung or Hynix. Most people focused on the Microsoft side, overlooking Phison's role. It seems more straightforward to gain attention with a story about "bad MS" than about an obscure company. Society tends to blame large corporations when something goes wrong with Windows, especially if a user is injured near a PC. People often point fingers at Microsoft if something happens, even if the real cause lies elsewhere. I think it would be fair for Microsoft to be held responsible if an investigation confirms their involvement.
The thing that stands out most is the "Patient 0" on X/Twitter. It was his choice alone that linked a Windows 11 update to the issue, and then others jumped on it. I doubted this from the beginning, but why let it spread so easily? Of course I understand why, but it bothers me a lot. Critical thinking is at its weakest right now. There are still unanswered questions, like why this user has multiple SSDs with pre-release firmware. Were they purchased that way? There’s still more to this story, I’m sure.
I 100% wholeheartedly agree.... But the problem is there's definitely an issue and I need to prevent that update........... It annoys me so much, I don't want feature updates, I don't want quality updates, and neither "security" updates (which typically break the most stuff ...) My computer works, I update the Asus crap (because that just stops working if you don't lol) that should surely be enough of "participation".... I do not ever want windows updates, they're dog since XP days.....
For a reasonable individual, the narrative should have ended as soon as "someone on Twitter" (or Facebook) appeared. I disregard anyone who relies on posts from others as reliable news. Most of the current "news" is essentially direct copies from elsewhere. The LTS releases seem to handle most of the issues. And avoid purchasing Asus Yu mane's MB/RGB software?
Yeah, but I don't really know how to get them ... otherwise I would -.- I mean on windows 10 I have sledgehammer, that works perfectly fine, no windows updates ever and the other stuff that gets updated (drivers, malware definitions, etc) But on 11 there's no such thing afaik, only "incontrol" which is nigh useless because it still lets problematic "quality updates" through... I don't usually... but it's a laptop and they all come with some crap, but honestly I'm pleasantly surprised, it works really well, custom GPU/CPU drivers included.... I mean it's hot as hell, uses a gazillion watts but the performance is really good, even the lighting stuff, I mean *per key* RGB is pretty awesome... It's all a bit cryptic but once you figured it out it's pretty nice! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Are you familiar with the Asus laptop? G-Helper is a widely recognized alternative to the Armory Crate virus. https://github.com/seerge/g-helper
I gave it a shot, but performance dropped right away... no per-key lighting detected. This is what really broke my confidence on Reddit. No worries, I didn’t mean to complain about Armory Crate—actually it makes sense for a laptop. There are some bugs, but it’s tough to tell if it’s Windows-related. I can change brightness if I enable GPU 1, but that weak AMD iGPU causes lag. The trackpad stopped working after I turned it off; it’s not functioning now. Probably Armory Crate is the culprit, though I don’t need the trackpad anyway—there was a reason I disabled it. Mostly minor issues, but the important stuff still works smoothly and feels responsive. (I attribute it to the 16-core R9.) How? It uses almost no resources. Spoiler: they say the ROG Zephyrus is coming back, but it’s not. I bought the Strix and a Zephyrus for nearly double the price. The Strix is faster, 1000 points better in Superposition, and runs quicker in Cinebench. The Zephyrus has fewer features and is just an overpriced copycat.)
