I haven't really played Call of Duty much lately, mostly since Black Ops 2 and Ghosts. Yet the idea that COD4 might be remastered is exciting for me. I also heard the new game won’t feature the extreme movement seen in AW or BLOPS3. I’ve been checking sites like G2A and others to see if I can find a cheap copy of the PC version—because paying 20 dollars for a shooter released in 2007 on Steam isn’t worth it. The PC community has done a good job patching the game, reducing modded lobbies and cheaters. Is this accurate? Still worth getting it to relive some old memories before the remaster arrives?

It draws a large crowd because of these whispers. There are many great, modified or altered servers available for just a small fee. For a few dollars, I’d suggest giving it a try.

If you prefer not to wait for the remastered release, it’s similar to the original version on PC. There are some servers that have done a great job of keeping modders away and are solid. However, there are also servers where modders occasionally appear for short periods, or dedicated servers focused on modding. You’ll need to invest time in finding the right ones. Personally, I’d rather not because the remaster is coming soon and even on G2A it’s still quite costly, but you should do what you want.

They adjusted the cost quickly, it looks like. The price was around ten dollars previously, now it's similar to seventeen for some reason.

Yes, that's correct. We're referring to games without modifications or hacks.

Well if you're not familiar yet, it's surprising that Infinite Warfare isn't something people expect. It won't be a remastered version of COD4. I just noticed that COD4 was the first modern warfare title, not WAW. A COD4 remaster would definitely be appealing. I haven't played COD:WAW either, but it's quite outdated and either a new iteration or a remaster would work well. If you're after the WW1 experience, Battlefield 1 offers that. For WW2, I think WW1 is still great. You could say that way. It seems like you came for WW2 but ended up staying for WW1? Edited May 8, 2016 by wcreek I'm a jerk.

The main concerns revolve around cheating in games, especially when official anti-cheat tools aren't fully effective. Most issues stem from players exploiting the game due to weak enforcement. While there are some dedicated servers and communities offering better experiences, many still struggle with inconsistent protection and outdated systems. The shift toward mainstream titles has left a gap, making it harder to find reliable, unmodified versions.

It was essentially WWII COD4. The game is almost identical in most aspects, only differing in time period and modes. For Battlefield 1, I’d like to read reviews first. DICE has been struggling since BF3 really hit the ground. BF3 was solid overall, but it marked the beginning of DICE’s decline.
