You can remove the downloaded files after installation. They are no longer needed once the drivers are set up.

Yes, there are installers available. You can remove them just like any other software you download.

Keep those driver files intact unless you want complications.

That's correct. You can safely remove the entire folder you downloaded. Once the installers are installed, they don't require further use.

Driver files enable scripts on different devices to operate correctly. I’d avoid removing them unless you’re installing a new driver.

File types include folder, zip, exe, msi. Whatever it is, I need to clear out the downloads folder.

Combine the driver software with the installer files. Keep the files and folders intact. Avoid downloading the software itself. Instead, get the installer. Once it’s done, remove the installer when needed.

After installing a driver, its files are saved in specific folders within the Windows operating system and added to the registry. The directory you notice in C:\ usually contains the setup file that gathers everything before installation. Typically it appears in the Temp folder, but some companies intentionally place it on C:\ for convenience—making it easier to troubleshoot, such as forcing driver installation through Device Manager or simplifying driver deployment across multiple machines by IT staff. Once installed, you can remove the folder safely, as deleting DLL files or executables while they're in use isn't possible. If you can clear the folder and Windows allows it (by fully closing the setup or restarting), you'll see the process complete without issues. Your screen remains stable, resolution stays consistent, and everything functions properly.
