Hi, your brother’s setup looks good overall. The B450M-A PRO MAX supports Ryzen 3100 and the 2x8GB 3200MHz Corsair Vengance LPX. The CPU heats up slightly but doesn’t show on the monitor, and the LED keyboard won’t light up. Check if the motherboard matches his specs—otherwise a BIOS update might be needed. The PSU is 850W, which should work. The BIOS version listed in the box (911-7C52-002) seems correct. Let me know if you need more details. Thanks!

This board is compatible with the Ryzen 3100 as shown in the MSI documentation. All their BIOS versions begin with 7C52, making it difficult to pinpoint the precise version. However, the most recent BIOS for this motherboard appears to be 7C52v30, which is the recommended one for the CPU, confirming its support from the start: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450M-A-...pport#bios

The system isn't booting and the screen is blank, making it hard to verify the BIOS settings. Can you confirm if the CPU is still running? Also, is there any error message displayed?

Oh yes I corrected my answer but you saw it before the correction damn I wanted to say that it should support this CPU out of the box, and the issue seem to be something else and not compatibility issue

This processor lacks built-in graphics capabilities—what graphics card are you using?

The packaging mentions compatibility with Ryzen 3000. Occasionally, AMD releases new processors under the same Gen designation, such as the 1600AF (Zen+) versus the 1600 (Zen1).

Ensure the cables link directly to the GPU instead of the motherboard. Since the keyboard isn’t working, the problem likely isn’t there. Remove both RAM modules and connect just one to the slot labeled SLOT 1.

On no consumer board is it possible to post to BIOS without a CPU. A few can update their BIOS without posting, but the other one cannot.
