I recently assembled a PC using these parts: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vq3ch3. It functioned correctly for a short time. The RAM, rated at 5600MT/s, was only operating at 4800MT/s when any EXPO profiles were selected in the UEFI. After updating the BIOS to version 3024 (the latest available), it booted into Windows successfully. I performed an OCCT memory stability test and detected numerous errors, so I replaced the RAM. However, the system failed to POST afterward. The Asus Q-LED display showed no diagnostic warnings. Power was on, cables were properly connected, and the BIOS screen didn’t appear after startup. Fans activated correctly. My troubleshooting steps include: updating BIOS 3024 via ASUS EZ Flash 3, installing new chipset drivers, running an OCCT stability test for two minutes, turning off the machine, reseating both RAM sticks (it was challenging, heard a click possibly from the board), clearing CMOS, and re-flashing BIOS with BIOS Flashback. I also tried powering on with just one RAM stick, then only one stick, cleared CMOS, and used a different HDMI cable. Finally, I replaced the CPU ( This was edited on August 14, 2024 by HippoPCBuilder.

Check the CPU socket connections and ensure there’s no excessive movement during startup. The plastic casing molds can vary, so fitting a cooler often causes slight adjustments to the CPU position.

Do you have a keyboard connected? I noticed it hasn’t been used recently, and AMD machines sometimes need a detected keyboard to boot. Which DIMM slot are you connecting the single DIMM to? Have you considered updating the BIOS to an older version before?

Consider using the alternative keyboard. It’s worth testing both to see which functions properly.

Version 2413 seems promising for testing. According to the guide, DIMM_A is likely the main slot, though this isn't confirmed. With DDR5, allow roughly a minute or more for RAM initialization during startup, which covers just basic power-on checks. You're likely to encounter extended POST times after reseating the CPU, clearing CMOS, swapping RAM, etc.

Currently showing 2613. After that I'll test 2413. Yes, I've occasionally shut down the PC quickly. I'll wait about 2 minutes after the BIOS flash.

I believe the maximum I've encountered so far is around 30 seconds across several AM5 boards I've constructed. It's still sensible to keep waiting, as it often exceeds what you'd think it would take for a successful POST.

The process took roughly a minute on the initial submission. It didn't succeed with 2613; I'm testing 2413. If that fails, what alternative approach should I consider?

2413 did not flash properly (green LED stayed on). Attempting a reflash on 2613. Leaving the device for 5 minutes just in case.
