I assembled a new computer, but it didn’t start up at all. I checked everything was connected correctly and even reinserted the CPU, though I’m a bit concerned the hardware might be faulty. Anyone have any suggestions?

The parts inside the computer include the processor, memory, storage devices, graphics card, and input/output ports. For a Ryzen 5xxx CPU, ensure your BIOS is up to date.

Gigabyte Z690 gaming setup with Intel 12700k Superflower 1000W, 80+ titanium, Asus TUF RTX 3070ti, Corsair Dominator 3200. Verified CPU isn’t overheating at all.

Ensure the 8-pin EPS power connector is securely connected at the top left of the motherboard. After powering on, observe if any activity occurs or if the system responds.

Everything is connected safely, but the GPU and RAM are active while the motherboard RGB stays off, except for the post light that doesn’t reach the CPU’s first stage.

No post appears yet and the CPU remains unresponsive during uploads. It doesn’t transition smoothly between CPU and RAM, and the chip stays cool—suggesting it isn’t receiving power properly.

I've tested both 8 and 12 pin connections, but they're not providing any power to the CPU.
