This is just an example—I don’t mean to suggest the same. I rarely use a placeholder CPU; I tend to keep mine and the motherboard for years unless there’s a shift in how the machines are used. You could argue building on a flexible platform with affordable CPUs like 3100/3300 now and switching to Ryzen 4000 later, but I haven’t tried that approach before.
