I am building a new system, and I have heard a lot about new B550 chipset coming out soon. Is this something I should wait for?
Check the X570 Tomahawk...or hold off for the B550...officially B450 isn't compatible with the upcoming Zen3 Ryzen 4000s...but the motherboard maker could make updates like they did for the B320 regarding the Ryzen 3000s...they might not...=x
You might want to hold off a bit. The X570 isn't ideal because it has that annoying fan.
B450 could turn out to be more practical for very affordable builds, especially if prices drop soon. I’m hoping for a price reduction so I can get a 3000 system with a B450. The upgrade potential isn’t my main concern—B450 is aimed at mid-range use, and unless you’re chasing the latest models, you won’t need to wait much longer.

It's pointless to keep refreshing every few years. Invest in the top CPU you can afford right now, avoid cheap entry-level parts, and don't plan upgrades for 4-5 years. Wait until everything is brand new then. A clear example is those who have 8400s wanting an upgrade now. If they started with 8700k, they wouldn't even be thinking about this.
Avoid the small fan if you don’t want any disturbance. Remove the side panel and place a 9-inch dust extractor to circulate air through all parts. Your voltages stay under 75c.
