DX12 now supports more cores, which suits my workflow of recording, editing, and uploading. I checked AnandTech and saw the 780Ti running better cards. Right now my setup is an A10-6800k with a Sony Vegas that freezes often. I’m thinking about upgrading to an FX 6300, but I want to avoid bottlenecks. The 6300 seems solid, though I’m cautious since I’m on a budget. The cheapest CPU options are similar to what I’d need for an FX 8320, plus a motherboard and cooler. Should I switch the GPU or pick another model?

Will there be any delays or issues connecting the FX 6300 with the GTX 960?

It's really happening, but please don't do it! I need an R9 3804GB with locked i5 +H97 boards. Just saw that change and it doesn’t look right. I’d suggest i3 Skylake or Haswell instead.

I question if you'll slow down. Still, I think you should upgrade to a stronger processor.

It will happen, don't try it. The CPU could overheat and damage everything.

The top for the FX6300 is the R9 280X/380X. Going beyond that causes bottlenecks. At least an i5 or FX9590 or 8350 with 4.5GHz would work. Probably just timing issues or bias—maybe wait a bit and see.

Certain games yes, others no. Planet Side 2, Battlefield 4, GTA 5 and a few will lag a bit on the CPU, but overall most titles rely more on the GPU, so it shouldn’t be a big problem.
