No internet after getting New Motherboard
Hello, I went with my friend to Best Buy and bought a new motherboard. We spent time setting up his PC, but when I turned it on, he couldn’t connect to Wi-Fi. He doesn’t have Ethernet access either. The motherboard is an MSI Z590 Tomahawk. Can you suggest ways to fix this issue?
Windows 10 requires internet connectivity to obtain the drivers. Version 11 might already include the driver. You should use another functioning PC with internet to download the drivers, save them on a flash drive as suggested, install them, and you're good to go. If that isn't feasible, bring the device to a repair shop for installation.
Typically, getting a new motherboard requires a fresh installation of Windows. Have you performed a clean install?
Refers to a new board lacking the driver's disk and required a quick search for the MAG Z590 TOMAHAWK WIFI driver.
Unzip those files to a location on your desktop or a temporary folder in the C drive. Open the folder and search for Setup, Install, MSI Install or similar tools. Launch the chosen application to install the driver. If no such app is found, only INF, CAT, and DLL/SYS files remain. Use Device Manager, right-click the device the driver relates to (e.g., network card), and select UPDATE DRIVER. If prompted, choose properties and update through the interface. Windows will then scan the files and fetch a compatible driver if available. If no driver is found, verify the device you selected—perhaps it was a wireless card instead of an Ethernet card—and retry with the correct one.
You might also attempt to remove the device via Device Manager and then restart the computer. This should prompt Windows to install the necessary driver if the first method fails.
