It's an emulator, similar to how the 360 had an XB Emulator and how the PS3 eventually emulated PS2/PS1 titles. If your reasoning is right, your disk games wouldn't function, which they claim won't happen since they're intended for compatible titles.

Xbox One's backward compatibility followed by a move to Win10 suggests cross-platform support might expand similarly. I think Xbox titles could join the mix, available through the store for PC or tablet use. Your thoughts welcome.
