Hey, it has been a while since I've built my own PC and a friend recently asked me to put one together for about 1000 to 1200 euros. Is this build good and do all parts work well together? Are there other options I should consider? He wants to play games like Baldur's Gate 3 and doesn't play many shooters. He needs something for the next 8 to 10 years, keeping upgrades in mind.

Stick with your 850W PSU because it's going to run cooler and quieter while staying in that sweet spot where things are efficient. Cases are a matter of opinion; Fractal is actually pretty good, especially since it's one of the few modern cases that still has DVD slots. Ask a friend for their take on that too. On the clock life part? Eight or ten years? That changes depending on what tech comes out and what your friend wants. I think they'll probably need to swap things sooner than that anyway.
